As most people know, Ardara GAA is a big part of my life (Too big at times..!:-) )Yesterday, The Senior and Reserve teams travelled on Good Friday to Gerard Gallagher Memorial Park to take on the new boys in Division 2, St Nauls. The reserves had a good 2-7 to 0-9 victory in the curtain raiser, but the Seniors didnt fare as well, losing to a lively home side on a 1-15 to 0-11 scoreline. A 5 point purple patch in injury time in the first half and a second half Steven Griffin penalty proving to be the main difference between the teams. I took the opportunity to try out the new Canon 7d mk 11 for some shots, the biggest problem being that when Ardara play I tend to forget the camera is in my hand once the ball is thrown in. Anyway, although not happy with the result, I was happy enough with the new camera, sharp at distance and the 1.6 crop sensor gives you a better range with the 70-200 2.8 mk 11 IS lens. 10 frames per second obviously a big plus as well. Whatever about the camera, The lads will be trying for a better run out on Sunday at home, as Malin make the long journey south to Pearse Memorial Park. We need to get off the mark lads..!!
